The practice

NeuralSpark is a UK limited company providing software engineering and technology consultancy. We take on a small number of clients at a time, which is what allows each engagement the depth it needs.

Every engagement is led by a principal engineer who has taken systems from requirements through architecture, build, cloud infrastructure, security and deployment. You talk to the person who designs and builds your system, and there is no gap between the two. Where a project calls for skills beyond the practice — design, specialist strategy — we bring in associates we have worked with before, and we are explicit about who is doing what.

The founder

NeuralSpark was founded by Nader Al-Shamma.

The relevant fact is the order things happened in. Nader came into software from business operations, not the other way round — a BA (Hons) in Business Operations, then several years inside a major bank’s operations team, where writing code to remove manual work was a means to an end rather than the job. The MSc in Computing Systems and the full-time engineering career came afterwards.

That sequence shapes how an engagement starts. The first question is what the business is trying to achieve and how it really works today, before anything is said about what should be built. Understanding the technology is the easy half. Understanding why a business operates the way it does, and what genuinely changes when you give it a better system, is the half that decides whether the software gets used.

Where we work

Pharmaceutical and healthcare, professional services, and technology businesses building a product — work that carries data sensitivity, verification requirements, compliance obligations, or all three. UK-based, with delivery experience on US client work.

Our clients are not named on this site and their work is described only in outline. That is deliberate, and it applies to yours too.
